Most British Airways flights are grounded after BA pilots called a two day strike.
BA pilots took the strike action, taking place on September 9 and 10, to protest over pay and conditions, and have scheduled further strike action on 27 September
Tens of thousands of passengers are affected with close to 1,600 flights being grounded in the UK but BA claim most passengers made alternative arrangements due to advance notice over the action.
An estimated 4,000 BA pilots took part in the strike after rejecting an 11.5% pay increase in July.
A statement on BA’s website offers affected customers either a full refund or the opportunity to rebook their flights with an alternative airline.
But with no indication of resolution between the airline and pilots’ union, BALPA, there may be more costly and disruptive action to come.
